CGB-Lab test 3 ( Cement fluidity & 28D strength )
As CGB technology has increasingly caught the eyes of the global cement industry thanks to its remarkable performance in power saving,we’d like to share the lab test a couple years ago ( 2016 ) in China, which gives better picture on how to put this new technology into use properly after replacing steel ball.

2.Clinker and FGD gypsum
Literally minimum 2 raw materials shall be used. However in order to avoid deviation due to heterogeneous mixture , one-component clinker was applied as raw materials during the test. When it came to the cement quality test, ground FGD ( Fuel Gas Desulfurization)gypsum is blended for various performance test.The technical data of the raw materials are as follow:

3.Mill loading rate ( CGB -ceramic ball Vs steel ball)
During the test, both CGB and steel balls were set with loading rate at 24% with media scheme as below: ( steel balls=174kgs,CGB= 84kgs, clinker charge=20kg/ each time)
4.Cement product fluidity analysis:
Below chart demonstrates at various blaines the cement fluidity variation ( initial and 60minutes ) for Steel ball and CGB-ceramic ball.
Above chart suggest, there’s no remarkable impact to the cement fluidity from the initial to 60 minutes wether it’s steel ball or ceramic ball. The variation scope of these 2 grinding medias test are nearly the same.
5.Cement product 3D and 28D strength analysis:
Below chart demonstrates at same blaine the cement strength ( 3 days & 28 days ) with Steel ball and CGB-ceramic ball as grinding media.
Rotation speed are the same @ 40.4 rpm
Above chart suggests as compared with steel ball,when CGB is applied the 3D strength witness a slight drop,however the 28D strength increase by 1.5~2MPa。
In next article introducing lab test serie-4, we are going to share the comparison between various grinding media on cement product water requirement of standard consistency and summary of this lab test.
